Crucial Connection

by Tracy Brackett November 12, 2023

7/6/12 3:18 a.m.

Watch out for hypocrisy in yourself and others. Remember your roots and your foundation. Your example one way or another affects others. Be a positive example. Every decision counts. Be wise and be consistent. Others are watching closely, some very closely. Know your limits and your impact. Pray for wisdom and guidance. I give freely to those who ask with a pure heart. Be mindful of these things at all times. I am your guide and your light. Listen to and follow Me and success will be yours. Kingdom success. Know that I love you and believe in you. You are chosen. Do My will today and every day. Come to the water for strength. Come daily. Come often. We are in this together. You cannot do My will without Me. Otherwise; it is not My will. Do not be fooled. I am the key to your daily success. Come daily.

In the Bible, also known as the inspired Word of God, there are commands for living. Much like the creator of anything provides instructions for its first and best use, the God who created us provided Biblical instruction that, if followed, would result in a life well lived, the best possible outcome. God’s commands for living are pure, loving, and perfect, a direct representation of His perfection and holiness. Humans, Christians included, are not perfect. Herein lies a dilemma. If we rely on our own ability, Christians will do a poor job of representing God well and non-Christians will not be motivated to seek Him.

In the Bible, Jesus, who is God in the flesh, describes Himself as the Vine and His followers the branches. The branches carry the DNA of the vine they are attached to. Likewise, the water and nutrients derived from the vine’s roots provide health and vitality to the branches. The opposite is also true. When branches are detached from the vine, they whither and eventually die. In this image, we see Jesus as the source of goodness and life. By attaching ourselves to Him, we inherit His DNA and all the goodness and beauty that come with it. Goodness and beauty that overflow to others.

Jesus is also described as the Cornerstone. Wikipedia defines the cornerstone as the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation. All other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure. In this image, we see Jesus, who is perfectly Holy, as a sure foundation, keeping the remainder of the structure attached to Him sturdy, straight, and strong. In the illustrations above, it is important to understand that no one else is described this way in the Bible. Jesus is the only True Vine and the only Foundation on which to build our life. There is no substitute. The goodness (righteousness) gifted to us through our connection to Jesus is the righteousness which belongs to Jesus Himself. Apart from Him, there is no righteousness. Apart from Him, there is no lasting success. He is our crucial connection.

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NIV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23a NIV)

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” (Matthew 7:24-27 ESV)

Pathway to Peace Part III – Gratitude

by Tracy Brackett October 15, 2023

3/31/14 11:59 p.m.

Appreciate all you have. You have been blessed with it. So often My children are not thankful, and they miss out on receiving so much more. Celebrate the gifts you have. You do not know how long you will have them. Enjoy and rejoice while you can. The ability to enjoy may not always be. Remember these words and join many others in thankfulness today.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:15-17 NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV)

Pathway to Peace, Part II – Grace and Forgiveness

by Tracy Brackett October 8, 2023

9/22/13 4:25 a.m.

Allow others grace and pardon on earth. You will feel better if you do. Peace will come more freely, and love will overpower judgment. Grace is a powerful tool. Use it often and you will see a change in yourself and others. Grace is the reason for salvation and love is the avenue. Show others grace today and live in peace and joy all your days on earth and into eternity.

For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:16-17 ESV)

Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. (Matthew 18:21-22 ESV)

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32 ESV)

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. (Colossians 3:12-13 ESV)

Pathway to Peace, Part I – Repentance

by Tracy Brackett August 6, 2023

3/25/12 3:18 a.m.

Justice and peace do not always appear to be achieved, but they will be achieved in the end. My justice is different than human justice. My peace is different than human peace. Come to Me daily and repent of any sin you have committed, and I will forgive you. With no repentance, there can’t be forgiveness. But it is free for those who repent. Remember this. My mercy is great. My grace is strong. You need only ask with a pure heart in My Son’s name. Then peace will be yours. My peace. This peace is more powerful than human peace. It is worth seeking and having. Seek it. It can be yours. Repent and be at peace.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:9-10 NIV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27 NIV)

Moving Mountains

by Tracy Brackett May 14, 2023

2/24/12 11:34 p.m.

Love always. Love moves mountains. It breaks down defenses. It melts contention. When others see your love, they will want to be cooperative. There will be no reason for them to fight you. Love always. Love all. Exercise patience while others see your love. For some, it may take time to see it. It may take time to trust. Be consistent and it will come about. Love always. Love all, even those who do not deserve it. To love all is to love like Jesus. To love like Jesus is to fulfill My will for your life. Love is powerful.

Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve said, “… to make that happen will take ‘an act of God’… that person will never change… that situation will never resolve itself… it’s a complete waste of time, talking to them is like talking to a wall… those two people, those two cultures, will never get along’? I have and, honestly, I still find myself there sometimes.

In the book of Matthew, Jesus said that Faith can move a mountain. One definition of faith is ‘complete trust or confidence in someone or something.’ In the context of Matthew, faith is complete trust or confidence in God Himself. Trust that He is who He says He is. Trust in His goodness, His mission, and His direction. But ‘who’ and ‘what’ is God?

God reveals Himself through scripture. He is Sovereign, the Creator of heaven and earth. He is Father, Son, and Spirit. He is described as good, holy, righteous, just, compassionate, merciful, kind, gracious, faithful, trustworthy, patient, and slow to anger, to name a few. There are endless ways to describe our Creator and, even then, we would still fall short of grasping all that He really is. He is beyond us. Indescribable really. Despite this, we must try. So… back to moving mountains. For this, the trait I would like to home in on is that God is ‘love.’

God is love. If we have faith in God, if we have ‘complete trust’ in Him, then we can be assured He is who He says He is. And if He is love, then we can have faith (complete trust) in His love. For us and for others. Because of God’s love, our personal mountains of sin and unfaithfulness were not just moved, they were taken away completely, through the death of His son, Jesus, on the cross. Therefore, if we wish for things that seem impossible, if we wish to move mountains, then it stands to reason that we can do so by emulating God’s love. By dying to self daily. By not needing to be first. By not needing to be right. By thinking of ourselves less in order to think of others more.

You see, love is ‘an act of God.’ It moves mountains of hostility, fear, and division. I dare you to move mountains. Try God’s love on today.

“…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NIV)

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another…” (John 3:34 NIV)

Soul Source

by Tracy Brackett April 23, 2023

3/5/12 3:09 a.m.

Find truth. Seek truth always. Do not be deceived by false testimony. Know My word well. Study it often. It has been written to guide you. All of life can be guided. The truth will set you free – always. Seek truth. Seek it daily. Life is too short to seek anything else. Know that I am with you and guide you to the truth. Know that I am Truth. Seek Me daily.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NIV)

Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17 NIV)

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32 ESV)

Game Changer

by Tracy Brackett April 16, 2023

3/19/12 4:57 a.m.

Love all every day. Love others as a way of loving Me. See Me in them. Find a way to do this, even if they do not appear good. It is My command for you to love all. Love is powerful and changes hearts. It changes the course of events when you exercise it genuinely. Love comes from Me. To love not is to be not of Me. There is an evil one who wishes to remove love from every corner of the world. Do not allow it. It is love, My love, that saved the world. The impact of love is greater than you know. Love all today and see the change. See hearts change and believe.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)

“We have known and have believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who remain in love remain in God and God remains in them.” (1 John 4:16. CEB)

Kingdom Steps

by Tracy Brackett February 19, 2023

2/15/13 3:25 a.m.

Beware of evil around the corner, hiding from view, ready to pounce. Stand your ground and be firm in your resolve not to give in to it or let it catch you off guard. Control your anger when it arises so that you do not shame My kingdom. Every step matters. Make them Kingdom steps full of good, impacting all. Know your weaknesses and work on them, always praying for My assistance. I love to assist and be involved in your day-to-day struggles, as well as your achievements. Know your limits and do not push yourself too hard. This can harm you as well. Love yourself enough to mind your hours, and what you do with them. Arise above your challenges and be holy as I am holy. Know I am with you and love you to the end of time.

I needed this message today. It’s so easy to get swept into the routine of daily living that we forget how precious each step, each day really is. That every step counts. That every step is either a Kingdom step… or it isn’t.

There will be an end to time on this earth but there will not be an end to time itself. Time will go on. Our steps today will shape our future in eternity. Think about that.

Lord, give me not a divided heart. Order my every step to be a Kingdom step and lead me in Your Way everlasting.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NIV)

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 NIV)

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19-20 ESV)

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy (1 Peter 1:15-16 NIV)

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your

name. (Psalm 86:11 NIV)

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24 NIV)

The Strongest Force in the Universe

by Tracy Brackett December 11, 2022

10/8/11 4:29 a.m.

Let your love flow to others consistently, not occasionally, for it is love that will win them over every time. Let this be your lesson, to love others always. Your goal should be to show my love to all so that they will see Me in you during your interactions with them today, tomorrow, and always. Start today. Start anew again today. Start anew again tomorrow and every day to make it your intention to love, to show My love to all, to everyone. Don’t stop loving regardless of the circumstances. Even when it is most difficult to love, this is when it is most important to do it because it is during these times that you will win others over to me because they will be amazed at the love you show them. They will know you are different. That you work for Me, for the kingdom and love of God, that you represent Me on this earth and they will be drawn to you and, therefore, they will be drawn to Me as they were intended to be from the beginning of time. Draw others to me today and represent Me well upon this earth. With some you will only have one chance so use it wisely every time just in case it is your only opportunity to win them over to Me – for me. I love you. You know this. Now show others I love them too. It is this they need to know because it is this that many do not know. Love wins every time so be consistent and persistent in your love for others so they will see Me in you. I am in you and My love shines through you already, but I will make it grow with your obedience to these words. Follow Me faithfully and you will see amazing results that you have never seen before. You will truly be amazed, and others will be amazed with you. I love you. I love them. Don’t forget this truth. It should be your guiding post always. Love never fails. Love always wins because it is the strongest force in the universe. Love for all to see and you will see Me in others as well. This is your reward, to be loved in return because you need it from others too. Others will see and love you differently than they do today. They will celebrate your faithfulness and will want to have it too. Draw others in for My Kingdom today. Draw them in with your love. With My love working through you.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)

Love Over It

by Tracy Brackett November 27, 2022

10/18/11 1:27 a.m.

Come to Me today knowing, believing I am with you and will give you what you ask of Me. Come to Me today believing this truth. Your confidence is building and that is good. You are on your way to where I want you to be. Come to Me with confidence today. Hear My words. I love you and I am with you. Love others so I can be with them too. Love the difficult ones. They are difficult for a reason. There are insecurities they do not want you to see and so they are the way they are. There is pain, past or present they do not want you to see. Your love and example will melt away these insecurities and pain so they block your relationship no more. Others will learn from you if you obey My words. Love the difficult ones today and you will see amazing results. Love them well. I will guide you. I will give you strength and wisdom to do it according to My will. Love all upon this earth. This is My will for you. Your will and My will must become the same. This will lead to your success from an eternal perspective. Plant the seeds, water the garden and I will see that it grows. You will produce abundant fruit. I am proud of you. Continue the walk you have started. The time is near for My return. Continue the walk and lead My children back to Me. You will do it, with My help. I love you abundantly. Love others. Love them well. Love them all. Love them.

In the aftermath of the George Floyd tragedy, my second Cousin Kate-Lynn’s husband, Andrew Holmes, recorded a message for his children as a response to racism and bullying. From that powerful message came a clothing and apparel line called “Love Over It.” The message is both simple and profound, one of inclusion, unity, and positive human relation… and it fits this post perfectly! Love over Fear, Anger, Racism, Hatred, Everything. Lead with Love. Check it out at www.loveoverit.com.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? (Matthew 5:43-47 NIV)
